Paul Greenhaff is Professor of Muscle Metabolism at the University of Nottingham. He heads the Metabolic and Molecular Physiology Research Group at Nottingham and is also Deputy Director of the MRC/ARUK Centre for Musculoskeletal Ageing Research. Paul is a member of BBSRC panel A, a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Physiology, Acta Physiologica and Scan J Medicine and Science in Sports, and sits on the Scientific Board of the European College of Sports Science. Paul has published >130 original full scientific papers, numerous review articles and book chapters and is an inventor on 3 patents filed by the University of Nottingham. His research interests focus on skeletal muscle mass regulation and muscle fuel metabolism. His lab has received continuous funding for more than 20 years from government (BBSRC, MRC), charity (ARUK, BHF, Dunhill Medical Trust, Wellcome Trust,) and industry (AstraZeneca, GSK, Iovate, Merck and Pfizer) sources.
